Submitted By Ang Wagler on Sunday, September 15, 2019
This group of 14 girls finished 2019 with a very successful softball season.  The team went in 7 tournaments all over Ontario and 1 tournament in Columbus Ohio.  We finished the season with a 40-15-3 record as well as a birth to the Eastern Canadians August 23-25th in Fredericton New Brunswick as Ontario 1.  The team not only won a medal in 6 of the 8 tournaments but they received gold medals in 5 of these tournaments including the Provincial Qualifier in Ajax and the Provincial Grand Championship in London.

After winning the provincial Tier 2 championship the team headed out to Fredericton to compete in the Eastern Canadian Championship tournament where the team went undefeated in the round robin portion of the tournament and ended up losing 3-2 to Ontario 3 Napanee earning them a bronze medal, it was a hard fought game where everyone left everything they had on the diamond.  The girls would really like to thank the people who sponsored their team at the Eastern Canadian Championships.  Our community support is so awesome!!  Thank you to Expressway Ford Motors Ltd., Flooring Creations, D&D Electric Ltd., B&B Real Estate Team, Don & Eva Lamond, Cam & Betty Craven, RBC Woodstock (John Goodbun), Brian/Kyle Wilhelm (Remax), B-W Feed & Seed Ltd., Shakespeare |Mills Inc., Ross Roth Sand & Gravel, Rogers Construction and Maintenance, The Tavistock Hops Co., Saputo, Yantzi's Feed & Seed Limited, Tavistock Shell, Krug's Meat Market, Zehr Insurance (Tavistock), Sirkel Foods Inc., Herb Wagler Construction, Quehls Restaurant, Woodstock Animal Hospital, Harris Animal Hospital, Pita Pit (New Hamburg), Heritage Building & Decorating, Oak Manor and our two organizations Tavistock Minor Ball and Grand Valley Ladies Softball Association
