Cephas Roth Memorial Recap
The 2015 Cephas Roth Memorial Men's Fastball Tournament is now in the books. The Tavistock Minor Ball Association would like to thank all the coaches, players, and parents that volunteered their time to make it successful once again. Please click on Read More for a tournament recap including TMBA Raffle winners and tournament 50/50 winners.
Despite the weather forecast (which changed by the minute), all games were played at their scheduled time other than a 1 hour delay to a few games on Thursday night. In the end, the Hill United Chiefs were crowned champions, defeating the Kitchener Hallman Twins by a score of 11-9 in the championship final on Sunday. Steve Mullaley from the Chiefs was named tournament MVP.
Other highlights of the weekend included a visit by the Pan Am torch on Thursday afternoon, Katie Roth's live music under the pavilion on Friday and Saturday night, the North Waterloo Peewee All Star Game, and a skills clinic run by the Australian National Team that will forever be remembered by the Tavistock Mite Boys and Mite Girls teams.
TMBA would like to thank all our teams that organized and served food at both parks, maintained the diamonds, sold 50/50 tickets, and served cold beverages under the Queen's Park pavilion. TMBA would also like to thank Shakespeare Minor Ball and Hickson Minor Ball and their volunteers that helped run the games at their venues.
