Tavistock Midget Tier 2 girls win Bronze at first tournament of the season.  May 25-27 was the annual Waterloo Ghosts Rep invitational fastball tournament, the midget girls tier 2 team coached by Howie Brown, Jeff Whetstone and Paul Hammer participated in this tournament with a Bronze medal finish.

The teams first game on Friday night was against the host team Waterloo Ghosts(silver medal winners), the girls played well and fought hard but ended in a 5-3 loss.  Saturday was a new day and the girls were ready to show their opponents what they were made of, with a win over the UTM Brantford team 12-1 and a 6-3 win over the London Lightening. These two wins set them up to finish second in their pool to advance to the semi finals on Sunday.  They had a rough start Sunday morning with a loss to the Vaughan Vikings team(gold medal winners).  Holding their heads high they entered the Bronze medal game against the Mississauga Southwest team, after 4 innings of play the Tavistock Midget girls won the Bronze medal.  It was a great finish to start off the season.  The next tournament for these girls is the Barrie Bash in June.
